Cost Accountant (Tulsa, OK)
Summary:
Responsible for review a company’s financial documents and recommending new accounting procedures that could improve cash flow and make it easier to understand established standard costs . Use ERP to identify inconsistencies and irregularities in operational costs and model the impact of possible budget changes on a company’s financial health. Role is to improve financial efficiency and give data-driven advice to company leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Collect and analyze data about a company’s operational costs.
- Set standard costs of manufactured goods
- Develop and analyze cost standards for materials and labor.
- Update and review Bill of Material costs
- Carry out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis
- Establish costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.
- Perform account and bank reconciliations
- Prepare audit reports and presenting findings to management
- Recommend changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit
- Advise executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data
- Support other company accountants with invoicing, account analysis and reconciliation
- Analyze production costs and recommend changes
- Oversee physical inventory cycle counts and discrepancy reporting
- Performing month-end cost accounting close
- Implement Lean accounting reporting and dashboards
- Maintain cost accounting system and cost ledger
- Perform life cycle cost-benefit analysis
- Analyze inventory valuations
Qualifications: Bachelor degree in accounting, plus a minimum of (3) years experience in accounting in the manufacturing field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP software. /Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills. Strong planning and organizational skills. Ability to work independently.
