Driver B (OKC,OK)
Summary: Responsible for transporting company products locally and intrastate driving vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating or gross vehicle weight of 11,794 or more kilograms (26,001 pounds or more), or any such vehicle towing a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating or gross vehicle weight that does not exceed 4,536 kilograms (10,000 pounds).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Ensure compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) and company requirements.
- Check vehicles (Pre and Post Trip Inspection) to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or radiator fluid or performing minor repairs.
- Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
- Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
- Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
- Drive trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons, to transport and deliver products, or other materials.
- Responsible for the securement of cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers.
- Read bills of lading to determine assignment details.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
- Read and interpret maps to determine vehicle routes.
- Drive trucks to weigh stations before and after loading and along routes to document weights and to comply with state regulations.
- Operate equipment, such as truck cab computers, CB radios, and telephones, to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers.
- Check conditions of cargo body after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage.
- Load and unload trucks, or help others with loading and unloading, operating any special loading-related equipment on vehicles and using other equipment as necessary.
- Inventory and inspect goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions.
- Remove debris from unloaded cargo bodies.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no direct reports.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, or equivalent. Class B driver’s license required with a clean driving record and no moving violations. Must be able to pass a physical and drug screen. Endorsement requirements are (T) Tanker and (H or X). Must have at least one (1) year straight truck experience.

Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. Must be able to work in stressful situations and handle multiple priorities. Must demonstrate interpersonal and organizational skills to effectively interact with co-workers, management, and external vendors and customers. Must be able to read and comprehend written and oral instructions including safety rules, operating procedures, and material identification. Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide as well as making the necessary conversions. Must have basic computer skills.
