Maintenance Apprentice

Summary: Responsible for assisting with repairs, adjusting and maintaining manufacturing machinery, such as boilers, blenders, dispenser, engines, pneumatic tools, and conveyor systems in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturing. Perform facility/building maintenance, such as plumbing, maintain HVAC equipment, yard maintenance, painting, welding, pipefitting, electrical, and grounds and facility lighting. Must periodically travel to distribution locations in Oklahoma City, OK, Arlington, Texas, Midland, TX and Van Buren, Arkansas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assisst with the installation of new production equipment.

• Services and maintains equipment including motors, conveyor systems, transmission systems, and production-related equipment.

• Assists with the troubleshooting of mechanical breakdowns.

• Adjusts mechanical parts using hand and machine tools.

• Fabricates parts for repairs and machine upgrades.

• Conducts routine maintenance and safety checks.

• Communicates with the production team.

• Prepares and submits maintenance reports for supervisor review.

• Maintain clean work area.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no direct reports.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Previous industrial maintenance experience required.

Physical / Mental Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to handle, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Frequently required to stand, crouch, kneel, and stoop. Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. Must be able to work in stressful situations and handle multiple priorities. Must demonstrate interpersonal and organizational skills to effectively interact with co-workers, management, and external vendors and customers. Must be able to read and comprehend written and oral instructions including safety rules, operating procedures, and material identification. Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide as well as making the necessary conversions. Must have basic computer skills.
